May Swimmers of the Month

Peyton Webb - Typhoon 22010-06-10 16.10.42

Peyton was chosen as a May swimmer of the month because her coaches have been impressed with her willingness to try new events at meets, and how hard she has been working in practice! She also has great practice and meet attendance and has be able to get all B and BB times in each stroke. Peyton's favorite meet this year was the SNOW Spring Invite because that is where she qualified for Long Course Age Group Champs in the 200 IM. She also has two other qualifying times for that meet this summer. Her favorite events to swim are the 50 breast, 200 IM, 200 breast, 50 free, 100 free, 50 fly and 100 fly. In practice she likes doing pyramids. Peyton feels like she has been influenced by her older sister, Tori. Her favorite thing about being on BWST is having nice coaches and having fun at practices and meets. To get ready for a meet Peyton likes to eat a good meal ahead of time, get plenty of sleep the night before, drink lots of fluids, and stretch before her races. One of her goals this year is to swim the 500 free. She has done the 400 free long course already so she's well on her way! Her advice for her teammates is to try your best and work hard and remember there will always be another chance. If she were stranded on a desert island the three things that she would like to have with her would be her Ipod, food, and company. When she's not swimming Peyton likes to hang out with friends, shop, and play other sports. Way to go Peyton!

Megan Marshall - Green Crest 22010-06-07 16.48.12

Megan was chosen as a May swimmer of the month because she has really been excelling this year in practice and meets. Megan works very hard at practice to improve her strokes and listens to feedback very well from her coaches. Megan has also shown an interest in the IMX program and has made the Bronze level for Club Tsunami! Her coaches are proud of the way that she has opened herself up to challenges and has swam different events this year. Her favorite meet this year has been the travel meet to WVA because she liked the pool there and she enjoyed the travel experience. Her favorite events to swim at meets are the 400 free and 50 back long course. Her favorite sets that she does in practice are kicking sets because she has a very strong kick! Megan feels like she has been influenced by Olympians Michael Phelps and Natalie Coughlin and also her mom. Megan's favorite thing about being on BWST is being part of a team with great coaches and racing other swimmers in practice. One of her goals for this year was to go to the Long Course Age Group Champs in more than one event, and she has actually made it in 9 events already! To get ready for meets Megan likes to know her times and compare them to the motivational time standards and make some goals for the meet. Her advice for her teammates is to challenge yourself and to work on your underwater dolphin kicks off the wall! If Megan was stranded on a desert island the three things she would want to have with her would be her DSI, some great books, and her journal to write in. When Megan isn't swimming she likes to read and play Wii. Great job Megan!
